Ohio State DE Sam Hubbard declares for NFL Draft
Ohio State defensive end Sam Hubbard has declared for the NFL Draft.
Hubbard took to Twitter to notify his fans he would forgo his final year of NCAA elibility to begin his future in the NFL. He thanked the Buckeyes for all of their support in his time at Ohio State.
Growing up in Ohio, wearing the Scarlet and Grey for the Buckeyes was always a life-long dream of mine, Hubbard wrote. In high school, I was given an opportunity to fulfill this dream and become an Ohio State football player by Coach Meyer.
What do I make of this? You know, I just think it’s everything that we’ve worked for, everything that I’ve worked for. It’s everything that I thought it would be,” Williams told The Associated Press in near tears. These are the toughest damn people in the world, and I’m so thankful to represent them.”
The defensive tackle’s stature as a fan favorite grew even more after scoring his first career touchdown on a 1-yard run against the Dolphins.
The Bills’ game against the Jaguars will be played one day short of the 18th anniversary of Buffalo’s last playoff appearance, a 22-16 defeat at Tennessee. The game was dubbed The Music City Miracle,” after the Titans scored the go-ahead touchdown on Kevin Dyson’s 75-yard kickoff return set up by a crossfield lateral from Frank Wycheck.
The Patriots traded Garoppolo for a second-round pick prior to the trade deadline, effectively sending the message that Tom Brady is not giving up New England’s quarterback spot anytime soon.
I’m proud of the job he’s done, Saban said. I’m sure it will be a great football game.
Leading only 10-6 after a turnover to start the second half handed Clemson a field goal, the fourth-ranked Tide (12-1) quickly snuffed out any thoughts of a repeat title for the Tigers.
It began with 308-pound defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne picking off a wobbly pass after besieged Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant was hit as he threw. Payne rumbled 21 yards on the return, shedding one would-be tackler with a deft open-field move and drawing a 15-yard personal foul penalty when he was finally dragged down with a horse collar tackle.
After Alabama drove to a first down at the Clemson 1, Payne re-entered the game — presumably to add another big body for blocking purposes. Instead, he slipped open near the right pylon on a play fake and hauled in a touchdown pass, even managing to get both feet down before the celebration commenced beyond the sideline.
